An Undertaking // by Dark Rye

Michael Yates is a woodworker – a woodworker whose Grandmother asked him to build her coffin.  In a film by Dark Rye, we are privileged to be able to listen to Michael’s story about building the most emotionally complex piece that he’s ever created. Michael’s interview shines with authenticity.   He thoughtfully tells us, “I’ll remember her as chuckling, and me swinging in her sundress as a toddler, swimming lessons, the way her sandwiches tasted, Cheetos, and Grandad’s barbecue chicken. . .”
