The Man Behind the Mountain- An Intimate Look at American Folk Artist Leonard Knight // by Ben Stoddard & David Ehrenreich

“The crazy folks I’ve known… had somehow made a conscious decision to go there”, replies Bill Ammons when asked about Leonard Knight- a man who lived out of his truck since 1984, until his death, while he built his masterpiece.  Leonard lived without electricity or running water for 30 years outside Niland, California where he was devoted to living by one simple word, “love”.  Leonard’s strikingly colorful mountain symbolically sits against the backdrop of a desert.   He tells us, “let’s all love each other and keep it simple.”
