Smoke em if you got em – and this guy will make em for you.
In here, everyone is welcomed. It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter if you are young, old, white or black. We just want to get to know each other and talk about cigars and life.
JESUS ANTONIO MARTINEZ
At Martinez’s Cigar Shop in New York, all cigars are made from scratch. Dominican immigrant Don Antonio Martinez started this small shop in 1974. Thirty-eight years later his son, Jesus, continues the tradition with great pride. This mini doc is a truthful testimony from the loyal customers that truly appreciate homemade cigars and great company. The passion from Jesus is contagious.
It’s evident throughout the video that this is not your average shop. Jesus believes the process of hand rolling cigars makes his product special, especially in a time when machines replace hands. Starting with planting the seeds the entire process is hand made. It’s clear from watching this video that each of Jesus’s cigars are a work of art. His shop is a neighborhood institution. “This is heaven”, “here you are treated like family”, “you never want to leave”, “the shop feels like home”, “we understand each other and we care” – it’s easy to see why this shop goes beyond the business/customer relationship. These are unique cigars. This is a unique experience. The more you come, the more you want to stay. I can see why.
